Climate change has become a pressing global issue, and its impact on flooding is increasingly felt. Rising global temperatures are causing polar ice to melt, raising sea levels and worsening weather patterns around the world. This phenomenon contributes to an increase in the frequency and intensity of flooding. One of the main drivers of climate change-related flooding is extreme rainfall. The study showed that changes in atmospheric flow patterns led to the intensification of storms, which resulted in heavy rainfall in some regions. For example, countries in Southeast Asia often experience stronger monsoon rains, triggering destructive floods. In addition, rising sea levels due to melting ice and thermal expansion of sea water threaten coastal areas. Big cities such as Jakarta, Bangkok and New York are on the front line, where the combination of tidal flooding and heavy rain can destroy infrastructure. This has the potential to create a food crisis, especially in developing countries that depend on agriculture as a source of livelihood. Floods also have significant social impacts. Affected communities lost their homes and access to basic services. Forced migration was a direct consequence of the floods, creating a refugee population seeking safer ground. This condition triggers resource conflicts, especially in areas that are already under pressure. In addition, public health is threatened by flooding. Contaminated water can cause diseases such as cholera and leptospirosis. This health threat increases in areas with poor sanitation infrastructure. Countering this impact requires collaboration between government and non-government organizations to provide support in the form of treatment and education. Climate change and flooding are also associated with significant economic impacts. Losses resulting from flooding, both from physical damage and reduced productivity, can be a burden on the local and national economy. Investments in flood-resistant infrastructure and mitigation strategies are becoming increasingly important to reduce long-term impacts. Facing these challenges, sustainable approaches to water resources management must be prioritized. Ecosystem restoration projects, such as reforestation and wetland management, can help absorb rainwater and reduce the risk of flooding. By understanding and adapting to the impacts of climate change, we can develop more effective strategies to deal with flooding, protecting communities and the environment.
